Arthur Watkins, Fill Station® President, launched the program in 2014 after seeing the effect online sales were having on his mattress business and other brick and mortar retailers like him.
The program is simple. From a Fill Station® Pillow Kiosk, the retailer offers the consumer a pillow built from scratch. Customers select the size and contour of the pillow shell. The fill can be any combination of Super Soft Poly Foam, Buckwheat Hulls, Shredded Memory Foam, Shredded Latex, and/or Goose Down Feathers. The level of firmness and support is also up to the customer.
“There is no other program like it,” Watkins said. “This is so much more than just a kiosk. Our program is in the unique category of “retailtainment,” which Watkins explains as using retail marketing as entertainment. “The mix of ambiance, excitement, sound and activity gets consumers attracted to your merchandise, and in the mood to buy – all while building a relationship with the consumer.” Already, Watkins’ new idea has attracted more than 25 retailers. “These retailers understand the vision and most importantly they are seeing great results,” he said.
Retailers have a range of licensing packages from which to choose that best match the unique needs and size of their store. All packages include shipping, installation, training and stocking materials. Retailers also have access to a number of marketing support tactics like social media events, fund-raising events and gift cards. As an added incentive to an already exciting program, Fill Station® Group is offering $1,000 in restocking coupons for retailers who sign up during Las Vegas Market.
